All right, let's get into the juicy topic of how to harness the energy of your will center in order to stay on track and keep moving boldly forward to bringing your goals to life in business and in every other aspect of your beautiful life. So the will center, one of the four motor centers, which are the engines that drive our ability to manifest, create, and express ourselves throughout our chart. Your will center, when you look at it, is the small right triangle on the right hand side of your chart.
Our motor energy centers are responsible for moving the energy through the rest of our energetic blueprint and depending on your unique makeup of defined and undefined aspects, you'll experience these energies in a way that is absolutely unique to you. Each of the four motors vibrates with its own energetic theme and purpose and all are vital to our journey of self-discovery. I just wanted to share with you a little bit more about the other motor centers as well, just so you can get a little bit of an insight into what the motor centers in our human design chart are and what they do.
So one of the energy centers, another energy center that's a motor is the sacral center. So this is our home of life force energy. It's a motor that pulsates with energy and vitality.
It's the power of creation and it actually holds energy for our sexuality as well. This is workforce energy, right? So you'll hear me talk, reference a lot about sacral beings being generators and manifesting generators. They are the workforce energy of the collective and part of that is because of their definition in their sacral.
So they have a defined sacral. So your sacral is one of your motor centers in your chart. Another motor center is your root energy center.
So that's the bottom energy center in your chart, the one right at the bottom, the square at the bottom. This is the home of stress and drive. And it's also actually a pressure center.
So that's a topic that we'll look into another day, but the root center acts as a motor channeling stress energy into life fuel. It's where adrenaline and momentum transform pressure into progress. A really beautiful energy center there that is also very great to understand.
And actually I have a free download for the root energy center as well, because I think it's definitely one that women in business really can benefit from understanding the unique energy held within their root energy center. Another motor center is your emotional solar plexus. This is the home of our emotions, creativity.
It's a center that allows us to get really intimate with navigating the waves of our emotions and how to unlock creativity through all of that. It really encourages us to feel deeply, process our experiences, and gain awareness from our emotional journey. So that's another motor energy center.
And then we come to the heart, the ego, or the will center, the one that we're looking at today, which is a motor center. And it is the center that harnesses the energy for materializing resources. It's about turning determination into 3D, turning determination into the things that we have.
The will center is a dynamic powerhouse. It really fuels our journey in terms of manifesting by its relationship to the value we hold for creation. And also the will center is really where we get our business management energy from.
It has the energy of wise allocation of resources, but it's not just a hub for all of that motivation. It also is kind of where we get our resilience from and helps us keep moving forward towards bringing a dream to life. It's the energy of strength to persevere and thrive, especially when challenges come up.
Our will center is our own inner source of commitment, guiding us to accomplish the extraordinary in the material plane with a bit of pep and a bit of passion. So with all our energy centers, the way we experience them differs depending on the definition. So if your energy, your will center is defined, it will be colored in on your chart, it will be shaded.
If it's undefined, it will be white on your chart. So to start with, we're going to look at if you have a defined energy center, because we can learn a lot about our individual energy centers just by knowing whether they are defined or not. So have a look at your chart.
If it's colored in, then you have a defined energy center and you are part of a little over 12% of the population. Yeah, there is not many people that have consistent access and reliable access to willpower. How crazy is that? But probably not actually that surprising, hey? How many times do we, you know, people are really great at getting all enthused with New Year's resolutions and start of the month, I'm going to do this.
And then like one weekend, you know, it all turns to custard because the motivation wears off, right? But if you are part of the 12% of the population that have a defined will center, you are probably also one of the people in this world that actually find it pretty easy when you say you're going to do something to follow through. Obviously, this is a fabulous energy to have consistent access to, particularly in business. It does mean that when you decide to do something, there is a sense of like grit and determination that really helps you ride out challenges in order to bring your vision to life.
A really important piece of harnessing the energy of your will center is to make sure that you are being very aligned and very intentional with any agreements you go into. So this is the case, whether you have a defined or undefined will center, but for different reasons. So with your defined energy center, you know, whether it be with yourself, with other people, any commitments that you dive into, if you say yes to them, you are likely to honor them till the death.
You know, it's that dog with a bone energy that is like, I said yes, and I'm sure as shit gonna like follow through with that. Right. And this is amazing.
As long as what you say yes to is in alignment for you, for whatever you're working on in your life, with your core values, with your strategy and authority, and also that it continues to be in alignment. So yes, having a deep connection with your core values, you know, I love it, but also your strategy and authority will help you make sure that when you say yes to things, you've got the confidence to know that that in alignment. And the reason this is so important is because with a defined energy center, if you say yes to something, you are going to put a lot of your actual physical output into bringing it to life.
You're going to keep going and going and going. And so obviously we don't want to be doing that for things that are not actually supportive of who we want to be and what we want to create in the world. So it's really important to actually start noticing that like, are there things in your life right now that you are kind of pushing towards and you're like, fuck, I've actually forgotten why I'm even working towards this.
Because if you've got a defined will center, you might just not give yourself that space to check in as it's still in alignment because you're so kind of on autopilot, just trying to make it happen. So that's really important. And also the other important thing for people with a defined will center is that you also need to rest as well.
So it's really interesting because it can feel like you have energy to keep going and going, but actually the will center does need to rest. So even with a defined energy center, will center, even if you still feel the motivation and drive, it does come in pulses and you will need to switch off at times from going forward with them. So that is a bit of a journey of deconditioning that people with a defined will center have is knowing when to just pop shit down and stop hustling and grinding quite so much, even when things are in alignment, right? The rest is really freaking important.
So if you have a defined energy center, make sure you're checking in with those two things. Are the commitments that I'm working towards are the agreements and the promises that I've made in alignment for me? If yes, amazing. And am I also allowing myself to go when the motivation is on and rest when the motivation is off? You don't need to be scared that you're going to lose motivation.
I think that's something that a lot of people with a defined will center have is this fear of like, fuck, if I slow down, is it going to dwindle? You don't need to worry about that. You just don't. Just know that if it's in alignment, it'll happen when the motivation is on, go for it.
So yeah, it can be really helpful. And I'm going to talk about the not self theme of both the defined aspects of your chart and the undefined aspects of your chart today. Looking at the not self theme of both of those is going to be quite helpful because it'll help you understand whether you are expressing maybe more of a shadow aspect of that energy center or you're really embracing the higher aspect to help propel you forward.
So the not self theme of the defined will center comes up if you find yourself saying yes to people and opportunities, because people with a defined will seem to have this innate kind of like where there is a will, there is a way sort of energy. And you sure as shit will find the way because that's the kind of person you are. It is really, I think, a huge part of our identity.
I have a defined will center, so I definitely relate to this. It's like if there's, I don't even care what it is. If there's a challenge, I know that there's a freaking way through it.
Right. And so that's why it's really important for me to be one of the many reasons there's a lot of energy in my chart. That means it's really important for me to be very discerning with what I say yes to.
And this is one of them. Because this energy, whilst totally empowering, you know, like, yeah, I'll get shit done, I can make it through challenges. It can be super empowering when moving towards things that are in alignment, but it can be detrimental to our energy if we haven't taken the time to get to the bottom of the why behind our yes and the why behind our actions.
So to navigate this aspect of the not self theme of a defined will center, you can check in with all your current commitments, how many still feel aligned based on your human design strategy and authority, based on the time that you have available, based on the energy that you have at the moment. Out of all of those ones that do not feel in alignment, just check in. Would it be best for you to ditch them all together? Is there a minor tweak or course correction that would mean that whatever it is that you're investing your time and energy in is a bit more manageable or in alignment? And if so, what would be your first step to making any adjustments? What's the first thing you could do right now to be able to make sure that you're spending your energy beans in the right way towards bringing the right things to life? Not just any old thing, because you know you can.
I'm laughing because it's just me. Hey, like, I've been through this. I've learned this lesson so many times.
Anyway, another way the not self theme of a defined will center will show up is if you find yourself throwing shade or making judgments of other people who don't have the same level of motivation and stickability or willpower as you. I am guilty as fuck of doing this to my husband. Okay, so I will come up with a plan, get excited about a plan, execute the plan.
End of story. Clay will fart ass around until the cows come home. He's also a manifesting generator, which is such a beautiful part of his energy, but he has that total like, I'm going to start this and I'm going to start this and I'm going to follow that.
And I've learned to really love that about him. But when he does not follow through with things and his stickability is less than mine, I'm like, come on, homie, what are you up to? I do. I have had the experience of judging him like Jesus.
I'm human, right? Understanding our energy really helps me go easy on him and also helps me notice when I am. That is the shadow expression of my defined will center rearing its ugly head, right? So it's pretty cool that I know that and I can like knock it on the head pretty quickly. So that's another thing to look out for if you have a defined will center, because you are a minority and you, you know, judging people for their lack of stickability is not helpful.
It's not helping you and it's not helping them. And then one other thing to bear in mind with a defined will center is are you pushing yourself past your capacity? You know, so the not self theme is acting as if there is no limit to your capability and capacity because you have this inherent, like, I'll figure it out. I'm just going to make it happen.
Right. So just notice if you feel that coming up for you. And as I mentioned earlier, your defined will center sometimes doesn't know when it's time to rest.
So strategic action paired with intentional rest will really help you get the most out of your defined will center. So for the small business owners listening, this means really recognizing when to drive forward with your like optimize and utilize that energy of motivation and also when to step back. This is the energy of working smarter, not harder.
And by being super mindful with your commitments, because overcommitting can lead to burnout and nobody wants that. Like it's not helpful to just push and push and push. So if you have a defined will center, just notice, are you just like crunching on through because you know that you can? Because if that's what you're doing, you're probably on the fast track to some pretty, you know, unfortunate, unhealthy, energetic and probably physical burnout.
So be very mindful of that. Okay. So we're just going to take a short break.
And when we get back, we're going to dive into all the beauty of the undefined will center, which makes up 78% of the population. So probably most of you listening, this is for you. Don't forget, you can download your chart in the show notes.

Remember you're not just taking care of your skin and your hair, you are taking care of you and that is the most beautiful form of self-love. Moving into those with an undefined will center. So yeah, as I mentioned 78% of the population have an undefined will center and here's the thing, if that's you, consistent willpower is just not your go-to tool.
But before you get all disheartened, you need to know that this is a superpower. So just like every other part of your chart and you know there is so much within our chart but learning to be aware of the energies in your chart, you can learn to harness them to support you in life and business. So with an undefined will center you might find that you might start projects and make agreements in a blaze of glory and enthusiasm, especially in times when you're feeling really emotionally well or really physically well and you get all excited.
Or on the other hand you might say yes to opportunities and commitments because you are trying to prove that you're in control, because you feel the pressure of obligation or you feel loyal to other people. So you might even find that these energies are patterns that you seem to relive time and time again. So listening to this episode is a gift, right? Because this is giving you the awareness you need to understand that that's driven through your energetic blueprint and it's driven through your will center.
And so one of the keys here is to know that a big part of the journey of gaining the wisdom from an undefined will center is to learn to really double down on your sense of self-value. The inconsistent energy in your ego or will center can lead you to doubt yourself and so doubling down on self-value by building evidence that reminds you that you are more than what you have to offer others, that you are under no obligation to be or do anything that is not in alignment for you is a really helpful way to do this. Okay, so self-value.
All right, cool, cool, cool. We can all get on board with that. Learning to you know have healthy boundaries, reject obligation related relationships.
But what about that elephant in the room? If you don't have consistent access to willpower, how the fuck are you supposed to get anything done? It's actually pretty simple. So first make sure you use your strategy and authority to ensure you're entering into energetically correct commitments, right? This goes for everyone all the time. If you don't already know about your strategy and authority, I've got a blog post about strategy and I've got YouTube videos about authority.
I think I might actually have podcast episodes on both of them as well. So I'll link them in the show notes. But yeah, because they're a really vital part of understanding your human design.
So definitely use strategy and authority to make sure you're entering into energetically correct commitments. And then you can actually work with, this is one of the best things. Okay, this is such a hack for human design.
Working with the energy of people who do have defined will centers or any center. If you have an undefined energy center, you can actually utilize the energy of the people around you that have defined energy in that area to help you manage your own energy. So, so cool.
So from a will center perspective, when you feel the energy start to diminish, the motivation energy start to diminish, you can surround yourself with people, right? That have defined will centers. So for example, I have a defined will center. This is one of the reasons my energetics work really well as a coach because my energy can help motivate people.
You know, like just through being in my energy, other people can feel more motivated to keep going, to keep pursuing their dreams. It's in my energetics. It is part of my inherent unique, unique energetic gifts.
So if you have an undefined energy center, finding people that you know are uplifting to be around, to motivate you, that can give you the momentum you need to help tap into reserves to keep you going when you know a vision is in alignment. So even just listening to this podcast can help fuel your motivation. How cool is that? But all right.
So what if you don't know whether people have a defined or undefined will center, which is going to apply to most of us, right? I mean, we don't walk around wearing a human design tattooed on us, although maybe we should. But my answer to that is that, you know, you energetically know, you know, the people who, when you're around them, you feel like you can tackle anything. These are the people you can surround yourself with to help you tap into motivation energy when you need it.
I can almost guarantee, I don't know for sure. I could probably look it up, but I don't, I really feel like Tony Robbins is the sort of person that would have a defined will center. He's a motivational speaker.
He gets shit done, right? So you could listen to Tony Robbins audio books and podcasts. Being in that vibrational frequency will help support you to bring a vision to life, to help tap into your motivation reserves. Also being in supportive online or in-person communities and also planning co-working sessions and collaboration are all really great ways to harness the energy of motivation when you need it.
When you need it, but you can't find it within yourself. It's all about support, you know, teamwork makes a dream work. And that is absolutely true for human design, right? All of us, there is no way that we can't thrive without the collective.
And so, you know, as a person with an undefined will center, maybe it's time to stop running that narrative of like, you know, I'm in it on my own, not looking for support, not being open to support, not being open to things like co-working and collaboration. You know, the other thing that you can do, and I know this probably sounds obvious, but I, again, I don't think people really consciously think about it. Outsource.
If motivation is a limited resources, then why push through and spend it all on shit that you can outsource? Save your motivation beans for things that you actually still have a fire in your belly for. The things that actually you feel motivated for with ease, because just because you don't have consistent access to motivation, it doesn't mean that you don't have motivation. So it just means that you need to be discerning with how you spend your motivation beans, right? If you think of your motivation beans as an energetic reserve that you get to spend on things that you feel like naturally you can stay motivated for.
Why would you not do that? Just spend them on things that you've got momentum with. And then whenever you can outsource anything that is not really in that same framework. Okay.
So just to summarize for the undefined will centers, follow your strategy and authority always. Okay. Relevant to all of us all the time, not just the undefined will centers.
Get in amongst communities and be supported by people that motivate you. Actively seek motivational people. One warning, warning sign for this is you want to pick your times for that because you can also get burnt out by riding the waves of other people's motivation.
So for example, I have to be careful not to energetically bully people into motivating them to do stuff that they actually don't have the energy for when they're away from me. Right. So that's something to be mindful of, like be very discerning with when you surround yourself with motivational people, almost use it as a tactic.
Like, okay, I know, I know that this thing is an alignment for me right now. I'm really struggling. I feel like I'm treading in sand and I can't seem to make forward momentum.
I really want this to happen because I know it's an alignment for me. I know it's connected to my greater vision. So I'm ready to look for support to help me tap into my motivation to bring it to life.
Right. Be very intentional with it. Don't just go and hang out with motivational people or listen to all the podcasts all the time, because you will kind of feel fatigued from that.
So that's just one caveat to that. And then also the last tip is, you know, spend your motivation beans wisely by offloading any shit that you're no longer excited about. We can obviously like we're still humans living in a 3D reality.
We can't just hand over everything, but wherever you can just make sure that you are using your things that naturally motivate you. Sounds simple, right? If it was so easy to just action all these things straight away, but what is really good is that just by listening to this, you're already gaining that awareness and you can start making those shifts like slowly, intentionally making shifts to help you harness your unique energy. So a little exercise for you.
If you have an undefined will center, you can ask yourself, are you trying to prove stuff to other people? Are you investing your energy in things in order to prove that you're capable? Does that lead you to make promises or enter into commitments that you don't really want to? Have you said yes to shit that you just don't want to lately? That's a good question. And the not self theme of the undefined will center is feeling driven to prove your worth, right? So are there relationships or contracts, like I just said, that you've entered into where you seem to be continuously taken advantage of, or you feel exhausted? Sometimes this is a sign that we're living out the not self theme of our will center because we're trying to prove ourselves. We've entered into a contract from this place of wanting to prove that we have this motivation or drive that we actually don't.
And then the last question you might be able to ask yourself is, is it time to put in place new boundaries or redefine the parameters of any relationships or contracts that you're in at the moment that you feel you're not, you don't have the motivation, the strength to keep pushing forward through? What would be the first step to achieving that? All right. So what do you think? How has this affected or impacted your kind of relationship to motivation? It's pretty interesting, that only 12% of the population have that ability to tap into consistent motivation energy. And the rest of us are really designed to harness the energy of other people and their motivation, be a lot more discerning about it.
But there is more to it than that. And if you want to dive into it a bit more and understand the unique energies of the individual gates in your will center, then you can download the free workshop, the worksheet in the show notes that will give you a little guide to unpack more of your unique energetic blueprint. Have you noticed, as I've been kind of sharing about the will center, any patterns that you can see show up when you're making commitments to things? Might be a good time to like have a little check in with things that might be ready to kind of cut cords with.
Anyway, whether you are defined or undefined, your will center holds an incredible source of knowledge and there is lots of wisdom in there. And you can work with your unique relationship to motivation through everything that you've learned today. As we wrap up today's episode, just remember your human design is a roadmap to understanding yourself better.
