Today I am really pumped to be able to talk to you, share with you, bring some insights to a topic that I have spent a lot of time thinking about. Not only because it's been really vital for me over the last few months in my personal and professional life, but also because it's really vital for my coaching clients to be able to work with this and really use it to live life in a way that feels really enjoyable, relaxed, fun, whilst also smashing goals, right? To be able to find the balance. So today we're going to be looking at how we perceive success in our lives.
How we can define or redefine success in our life so we can enjoy the flip and ride, not get so focused on the long-term goal that we forget to enjoy the god damn journey, right? It's so easy for us in this day and age to get so focused, hyper-focused on future goals, future visions, that we actually forget to live in amongst the beauty of all the beautiful creations that we have already made. So today I'm going to be diving into redefining success for you and I'm going to give you a practical tool that you can use and I have been using over the last three months which has been super, super life-giving and life-changing for me. This ritual will set you up for an absolutely incredible day every day and I am not joking when I say everybody can do this because I have been doing it even when my alarm has been going off at 3 a.m. I don't think you would have seen this before because I created this ritual to fit in with my incredibly busy lifestyle but I needed it because, as we're going to talk about a little bit in this episode today, I have been really feeling a bit overwhelmed with the workload that I've had through my day job and I wanted something that was going to help me stay grounded and focused but that I could actually do when I wake up when my alarm jars me out of my deep sleep at 3 a.m. So no matter if you have kids, if you have a busy schedule, no matter what time of day you're getting up, you can use this and it will set you up to be grounded, calm and focused. And I've got to be honest, two days ago I woke up and bless my my little baby Lily, my cat, had gone to the toilet where she shouldn't have and so when I woke up the first thing I saw was toilet on the floor right and so I didn't do my morning ritual.
The rest of the day I was in such a bad mood and Clay was like, did you do your morning ritual this morning? And I was like, no I didn't because the first thing I saw was toilet on the floor and I just, you know, I just didn't. I got distracted and the rest of my day was a little bit not so grounded, not so calm and so I won't be making that mistake again. So I want to share this ritual, this morning routine with you.
It's going to be so so powerful and help you really navigate the silly season with ease, with flow, being able to keep a smile on your dial even when shit's getting hectic. So you're going to learn that as well as your beautiful skin and hair care secrets and also when you register you get four of my incredible guided meditations. What success looks like to you in your life. And I guess I really want to speak directly to anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, scattered, stuck in a loop of unproductive busyness. If you have ever felt that then I just really want you to know that you are not alone.
I move in and out of this space quite often really because as you all know probably if you don't my human design energy type is generator and I have a huge capacity to work but I also have some pretty solid conditioning that I am continuously peeling back the layers of around what work looks like, what success looks like, people pleasing, you know I've got a lot of work that I've been through and done and unpacked and that's constantly evolving but what that leads to in my life is sometimes saying yes to things that I probably should have said no to right. So overwhelm and you know unproductive busyness is something that I'm continuously on a journey of navigating. So if you've ever felt that way I want you to know that you're not alone and I also want to just give you a little bit of a high five because honestly I feel like these days there is a little bit of a culture of busyness shaming.
I don't know if you've noticed this particularly in the personal development world it's like oh you shouldn't be busy you should be just so relaxed and chill and if you're busy then you're not doing something right right like you're not investing your energy in the right way but I want to push back against that a little bit and the only reason well the main reason is because for people like me who actually do have a large capacity to work being busy isn't a bad thing it's just about like knowing being really deeply rooted in what is important to you and making sure that whatever you're filling your time with is really drawing you closer to your overall vision for your life it feels nourishing you know there's no shame in being a busy human just make sure you're looking after yourself in the meantime right and that's what we're going to talk about throughout this episode so yeah today we're going to explore how you can redefine success for yourself because this has been a secret weapon for me protecting me against overwhelm over the last few months while I've been going through some really solid training at work so by shifting the focus from external pressures to actually tuning into daily joy daily satisfaction we can start to break free from the distractions and and really stay true to our path to our journey so I think one of the biggest causes of this overwhelm and sometimes scatteredness that we might feel is that it's so easy to get caught up in the societal narrative that success is exclusively tied to external markers things like wealth status or any notable achievements these are undoubtedly valuable for sure but don't think it's so easy to just start chasing these big successes to the point where you actually forget to enjoy the wins you're having every single day just keeping your eyes too firmly on that long-term prize can leave you feeling a little bit dissatisfied and actually take the sparkle out of what is most probably an already incredible life so the concept that I'd love for you to start exploring and that I'm going to give you the tools to be able to explore today is called micro successes these are the seemingly small victories that are in fact the building blocks of what is a truly fulfilling life they keep us motivated they keep us engaged and they bring a sense of joy into every day they infuse joy into every day these micro successes shift your focus from tangible outcomes to to a more holistic view of life and I've found this to be a really profound shift in mindset that has been super nurturing to my emotional well-being and honestly it's actually increased my productivity which wasn't really the goal but it is a really nice side effect so when you start defining on a daily basis what success will look and feel like for you and then really let yourself acknowledge and celebrate those successes those small victories every day something beautiful happens within your mindset undergoes this transformative shift and it's really fostering a sense of accomplishment no matter how seemingly minor the win is so this connection to daily successes can really cultivate a beautiful positive outlook a nourishing mindset of abundance and gratitude right that is what I've found is that you know I've always had a really cool gratitude practice clay and I used to have a gratitude jar we don't have that anymore but we do on our morning walks talk about what we're grateful for what we love about our life and all that sort of stuff but actually this process that I'm going to share with you shortly this has really had me sitting kind of I feel like my my baseline vibrational frequency has been more elevated to a point where I am I feel like I'm sitting in abundance and gratitude you know almost all day every day and it's the abundance isn't necessarily financial abundance it's the abundance of knowing that what I'm creating is it's like swimming around me I'm in it I'm enjoying it I've already created so much of it so that's really powerful right like you know I love manifestation this podcast is like rooted in how we can manifest our best our most powerful life and when you are really nurturing and letting yourself sit in the energy of abundance and gratitude like that is a powerful place to sit if you're wanting to attract more beautiful things into your life this is a powerful fuel that bolsters your emotional resilience and it creates a ripple effect that really can enhance your mental energetic and emotional well-being so what I've noticed is that I've started to approach each day with a sense of purpose feeling more fulfilled feeling more confident and more at peace so rather than that scrappy kind of like oh fuck okay so here I am I've got like so many things that I could possibly put on my to-do list right now and and I'm sure you know this feeling when you feel that almost like from the pit of your stomach like crap I've got so much to do where do I even start right and then you slowly you start oh you get distracted by cleaning up the kitty litter you get distracted by vacuuming doing the washing and then before you know it you're halfway through the day and you're like well none of that really was what I wanted to do today none of that has really got me closer to my goals and actually that's not what success looks like for me today and then you just start feeling a little bit depleted so this is the flip side of that this practice becomes a gentle reminder that every step no matter how small is part of a glorious journey towards you bringing your vision for your life to life and so by embracing this you are really affecting like I said your baseline energetic vibrational frequency meaning more ease more flow less resistance and an easier manifestation process okay let's get practical how can you actually do this what is the steps what are the steps to each and every day feel the massive benefits of embracing micro successes the daily ritual that I've created and that has been a game changer for me is super super simple but life-changing right so each morning instead of writing a to-do list or I actually for the last few years haven't written a to-do list but have written a to manifest list because that has really put me in a really positive energy but even a to manifest list was things that were like I would put like 10 or 15 things on my to manifest list and they were jobs right like they were chores that yes I need to do but they were not rooted in how I wanted to feel they weren't supportive of what success looked like for me that particular day they were like shoulds almost you know so this new process has really helped me redefine that and become more focused more intentional with what success is going to look like so instead of writing a to-do list I asked myself one deceptively simple question and that is what does success look and feel like for me today so how to actually work with this question first of all I think it's really important to be able to have your vision your long-term vision know what you're working towards and have that broken down so at the start of each year for example I have my vision for the year ahead the goals that I want to achieve both personally professionally and in my business and then I reverse engineer what it's going to take for me each quarter each month and each week to be able to achieve those goals right so I always have a vision and a plan and yes it evolves it moves it transforms throughout the year as my life changes and my goals change I like to be fluid with that but overall I know where I'm going right I know what I'm reaching for so then that vision those steps those goals big goals and then chunked down goals they help keep me guided on my weekly and daily actions as well as that you guys know how much I love being really really deeply connected to your core values so ideally you're going to have two to four maybe five core values that really you filter everything in your life through everything that you say yes or no to you're saying yes or no to because you can tell that they're either supportive of your core values helping you express your core values or they are not and you can happily say no to it because you can't relate them they don't they don't support where you want to go with your life they don't support how you want to show up in this lifetime so again I think your core values are going to evolve right and keeping tabs on where you're sitting in your life like what are your core values right now where you are today in your life is really helpful so when you ask yourself each morning what does success look and feel like for me today you can compare you know first of all check in with your body I want you to really make this an opportunity for you to feel the response of your body apply your human design strategy and authority into this process so that you can let your intuition let your body wisdom guide your daily actions and then compare it to your core values make sure like whatever you write down just brain dump it compare it to your core values and notice is this supportive of my core values or could this potentially be ego driven or productivity driven but not really in alignment for me you know give yourself the freedom to be really honest with yourself there and then also look at your long-term vision for the year and the month and all that sort of thing and notice like how is this getting me closer is it getting me closer at all or is this not getting me closer am I okay with that so that you are letting your daily energetic emotional and physical needs really continue to be guided by your core values and your larger vision so for me this looks like I asked myself what does success look and feel like for me today I have my four core values written down in multiple places and I filter everything through them what am I spending my time and energy on is it supportive of me and my core values I know what my big goals are for the year and then I check in with my body mind and soul for what I need what I want and what is most important for me today I let the language of my sacral authority guide where I focus my energy and that helps me gain a lot of clarity about what is important for me to focus on each day but I want to be really clear here is that like a lot of the time I'm not productivity focused so for example some days I've been you know some days I've had really crappy sleeps and I wake up and I feel so tired and even though if I was going to be writing a to-do list it would probably still have like 10 or 15 things on it instead of doing that I go like what do I need today what does success look like for me today and on days when I've had a really shit sleep honestly success looks like maybe having a magnesium bath going for a long slow walk and drinking a shit ton of water right so that is my that's my cornerstone of success for that day so I'll put that in my diary like that's what success is for me today staying hydrated having a rest soak in the bath and then I can check like how is that supporting my core values well some of my core values of freedom and expansion right so how is that supporting me well if I'm well rested I can then put my energy I have more energy like I'm filling my cup so that I can actually put when I have got more energy I can actually focus and and regain that clarity and regain that momentum when I need to rather than just pushing and pushing and pushing and driving myself to the ground that's never gonna promote creativity and expansion and freedom no way so can you see that shift in like what do I actually need what does success actually look like for me today rather than like productivity driven to-do lists and what I've noticed is that actually when I prioritize the things that I know look like success for me today then naturally my energy kind of ends up flowing into more productivity anyway which has been a really beautiful side effect some days I if I wake up with a load of energy my success list what does success and look and feel like to me today is literally yeah bulk content creation podcast recording it's doing a hardcore session at the gym it's going to work it's all these things that are kind of I guess more more socially acceptable versions of success on a daily basis some days it does look like that but I've given myself room I've given myself space to not have success look like that for me each day so what I've really noticed is that now I have let go of jamming my days full of box ticking lists that end up stressing me out and instead I focus on activities that are moving the needle towards achieving my goals but in a more holistic and nourishing way this is a ritual that has aligned my aspirations with my core values but it helps me focus on what truly matters and in the process gives me space to tap into the language of my human design and continue to create positive forward momentum it's absolutely a win-win-win and I have absolutely loved every moment of it now one thing that is really vital to this process is actually giving yourself space at the end of the day to celebrate those wins celebrate that you created that success that version of success that is so deeply nourishing for you that day right like that's the whole point of micro successes celebrating the journey celebrating the wins so on days when for me success looks like drinking as much water as I can having a nice bath then I get to the end of the day and if I've done those things I'll be like yeah girl like shit you just nurtured the shit out of yourself and this is a positive flow-on effect and this is how you really get to be in that energy of being in the joy of the journey it's how you create long-term success whilst also managing to like balance your energy and not get burnt out because we talk about burnout all the time but do we actually deal with stopping it do we ever actually put processes in place that stop us driving ourselves into the ground because it's so easy to get addicted to the dopamine hits of ticking off your to-do list how many of you I'd love to know if you are the type of person that writes stuff on your to-do list that you have already done just so you can tick it off like I am so guilty of this because that is like that's a society that's the conditioning that we've kind of been built it's it's ingrained in us that we must do we must be productive and so getting that sweet dopamine hit of ticking something off your list it feels freaking amazing right well why not turn that into a way to nourish you rather than to deplete you and that is what this ritual does so it's a two-step process which allows you to check in with what success looks like for you what success feels like for you each day it literally takes five minutes I know it sounds like it's going to take longer than that because of comparing with your core values and your overall goals but you will know them so well that you just know right like yes you can reflect on them but it doesn't take long and it also creates space for you to check in with your intuition which is always going to be a great thing so that's the first step and then the second step is at the end of the day letting yourself celebrate I don't care what you do whether it's just like giving yourself a little nod like yeah girl maybe it's a high five in the mirror maybe it's like saying to your partner oh I'm so proud of myself I really I drank my two liters of water today and I feel so focused and clear and that's the biggest win for me today maybe it's putting out a social media post I don't you know whatever it is just give yourself that space to enjoy the ride and really roll around in the bliss of it so I really would love to know if you are willing to swap your to-do list for a what does success look and feel like for me today list are you willing to shift that just as an experiment just to see how it changes your energetic mental emotional physical spiritual well-being on a day-to-day basis let's see if you can boost your creativity and maybe without this being the goal but maybe it will actually boost your productivity by and and also allow you to lay the foundations for a life that's deeply fulfilling not
