Conscious Sun & Karmic Purpose

When I started my coaching business, I was a straighty one eighty Life and Success Coach. Human Design and Tarot therapy certifications weren’t even a glimmer in my personal development eye.

The decision to start my life and success coaching business was fueled by two things that had begun to overwhelm me: first, the politics and practicalities of Pilot life had planted a festering sense of boredom and frustration deep in my soul, and second, my burning desire to rescue folks from the clutches of anxiety and burnout - two demons I'd wrestled with throughout my flying career.

Sure, I'd conquered my own anxiety using tools like NLP, Hypnotherapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique, and then later earned my stripes as a certified coach in these areas. But little did I know, there was a whole buffet of burnout flavours out there, and I'd been indulging in each one to some degree. So, while I'd bid adieu to one form of burnout, I was still knee-deep in another, thanks to years of not honouring my true self in relation to:

- The rhythm and rituals of my daily life

- The people I was naturally drawn to

- The hobbies I wanted to delve into (Hello Tarot and Human Design)

- The types of food I wanted to eat (I'm a fiend for organic berries - it's a weird   fetish

- The exercise I wanted to do.

The whole ten yards.

Then, I discovered the power of Human Design and my Conscious Sun. It was like a slap in the face—in the best possible way. The Conscious Sun is the most important Gate, activated at the moment we’re born, and the energy from this Gate makes up 70% of our Karmic Purpose. (In Human Design, ‘karma’ refers to the energetic imprints and patterns that shape our lives—our past actions, intentions, and thoughts.)

My Conscious Sun is Gate 5. The purpose of people with Gate 5 as their Conscious Sun is to allow themselves to flow with the natural rhythms of their own energies, emotions, and life force, which will guide them back into sync with their internal clock, Mama Gaia, and the Universe. By honouring this unique rhythm, Gate 5 peeps learn to pave our own way. It aligns us with opportunities and synchronicities that are meant for us. The crazy thing is, even before I became a Human Design coach, I was passionate about supporting women in building a life on their terms. I wanted to help them see how fekn life-giving it is to flip the bird to society and to ignore BS external expectations, and instead to honour their passions and live life in alignment and in a way that feels next-level delicious.

Learning about my Conscious Sun helped me understand why I felt deeply that I wanted to support women to reach success and alignment in their lives and businesses. It helped me understand and accept myself - thoughts, feelings, quirks and all. In a way, it gave me permission to be me and to love who I am. That’s the magic of Human Design, people! With delight in my heart, I can now say that I no longer suffer from misalignment burnout. Don’t get me wrong - I always have to be mindful not to slip back into old habits that will try to misalign me with my natural rhythms. And sometimes, I fuck it up. But I know for sure that I will never end up back where I was five years ago - anxious, frustrated and burned out, because I understand my karmic purpose, thanks to finding out about the power of my Conscious Sun.
