Are you in a rut? Part one.

Sep 01, 2022

Sometimes life feels sticky, like you're trying to wade through heavy mud, and instead of feeling like every step takes you closer to your goals or the life you've envisioned, you feel like more mud sticks to your boots, weighs you down and slows your progress.

If you're reading this, and nodding with thoughts of "preach, sister!" running through your mind.

First of all, I hear you, I see you, and you are not alone.

The good news is that this sort of heavy, stagnant energy is a precursor to MASSIVE change. Not just for the sake of it, though. Change for your highest evolution.

Why?

Because it is not your natural state.

Your natural state is one of love, flow, fulfilment, and abundance.

And your soul is like a homing pigeon, always trying to bring you home to this natural state.

If you have been feeling stuck lately, if you've been feeling like no matter what you do, you can't seem to move through the sticky mud. This email contains the first of three actionable steps you can take to start shifting the funk so you can start stepping back into flow.

Step One
Change your environment and bring more variety into your life.

Often this stickiness comes as a result of repetitive thoughts and behaviours. Any thought or behaviour you repeatedly do will build STRONG NEURAL PATHWAYS.

That is cool when those thoughts and behaviours are life-giving and contribute to your highest evolution, but if they keep you feeling trapped or small, that's a FUCK NO.

An easy way to break down strong but unhelpful neural pathways is to change shit up. And I mean on every level of your life.

There are two reasons mixing things up in your day can make a huge difference.

First, it interrupts old patterns! This might sound basic AF, but you would be surprised how much of your life, thoughts, and behaviours are repeated patterns. Simply interrupting those patterns moves you from autopilot to manual control, and this is 100% necessary if you want to start stepping into flow again.

Second, when you interrupt old patterns, you are forced to look at things from a new perspective. Imagine your brain as a GPS, and when you interrupt old patterns, you have pushed it off the map, and it has to start looking for a new route to get you to your destination!

Taking a break from your day-to-day work, changing the people you surround yourself with, or the places you go can all be incredible catalysts for changing habits and broadening your perspectives.

Some other small but effective ways to start adding more variety to your life are:

Do one thing different in the morning as soon as you wake up.

Change places you go to connect with nature.

Move your body in new ways ( Changing your workout routine or even going to a new place to do the same exercise.)

Go to new places and have different conversations with your closest friends.

They say" change is as good as a holiday." There is so much wisdom in this simple statement. The magic that unfolds when you use variety to stimulate you into finding new, more aligned solutions to old problems is at your fingertips.

If you decide to start experimenting with adding variety to your every day as a way to start moving out of stickiness, I would love to hear how you get on! Tag me @LevelUpwithKatieB on Instagram or Facebook with your progress!
